This year is an exciting one for our club. We are beginning an ambitious project on Waterloo Creek where our chapter is focusing efforts on bank stabilization using minimal amounts of rock and sloping banks back as flat as possible and plant all disturbs areas to native prairie. All work is being done through our Chapter on a publicly owned ground. The raffle grand prize is a 8' Clark Fork Pontoon Boat & a RLS 8'6" 4 wt Fly Rod and Reel Combo donated by Cabela's, Prairie Du Chien. The Iowa Driftless Chapter of Trout Unlimited is hosting it's 15th Annual Trout Stream Festival on Saturday, April 30, at the Danan Lansing Memorial Building on the Winneshiek County Fairgrounds in Decorah. A reception begins at 5 p.m. with buffet dinner at 6 p.m. followed by silent and live auctions, games and raffle drawings. The raffle grand prize this year is a Clark Fork pontoon boat and rod/reel combo from Cabela's in Prairie Du Chien, WI. One of the premier live auction items will be a wood carving from Curt Jones of Decorah. All the auction items will be listed at: iadriftless.org <http://iadriftless.org> Proceeds will fund a habitat improvement project on Waterloo Creek and educational programs like "Trout in the Classroom" and the new "Fishing Collection" at the Decorah Public Library. The mission of the chapter, which was established in 2000, is to work with other groups and individuals to protect, and improve cold water fisheries and their watersheds in northeast Iowa.
